Dr. Erika Lara

Dr. Erika S. Lara is a dedicated primary care physician specializing in Internal Medicine. Dr. Lara completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Central Florida/HCA Ocala Hospital in 2018. She earned her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in 2014 and holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of South Florida. 
 
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Lara is committed to providing accessible and compassionate care to a diverse patient population. She strives to bridge disparities in healthcare by offering high-quality services to individuals from all backgrounds. Dr. Lara’s warm nature and approachable demeanor create a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and valued. She believes in providing each patient with ample time and attention, ensuring that visits are thorough and relaxing.
 
She has hospital affiliation with the Jackson Healthcare System and with Baptist Homestead Hospital. Dr. Lara is also part of the Baptist Health Quality Network and is the Medical Director of Pinecrest Total Health. Dr. Lara also works as a Hospitalist in several South Florida Hospital Systems. 
 
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Lara is passionate about maintaining a healthy lifestyle. She encourages her patients to adopt similar habits for overall well-being by staying active and eating well. She also enjoys traveling and spending time with her family. 

Dr. Lara has published notable works, including “A Rare Case of Focal Segmental Glomerular Sclerosis and Subsequent Necrotizing Crescentic Glomerulonephritis in the Same Patient” and “Papillary Muscle Rupture and Endocarditis: A Failing Diagnosis.” Dr. Lara has also contributed to a chapter in “The Cleveland Clinic Manual of Vascular Surgery,” titled “Superficial and Other Venous Thromboses, Varicose Veins – Resident Manual.”
